DAKINE PTEX STICKS
The
DAKINE PTEX STICKS:
are - Material: The sticks are made of 100% polyethylene (P-Tex) plastic, the same material modern ski and snowboard bases are made from.
- two clear and two black sticks, allowing you to choose the color that best blends with your board's graphics.
- Dimensions: Each stick is approximately 18 cm (7.08 inches) in length.
- Prepare the Damaged Area: Clean the gouge or scratch thoroughly with a base cleaner or isopropyl alcohol to remove dirt, wax, and loose material, and trim any frayed edges with a sharp razor blade.
- Melt the P-Tex: In a well-ventilated area, light the end of the P-Tex stick with a lighter or mini torch, holding it at an angle.
- Fill the Gouge: Drip the molten P-Tex material into the damaged area, ensuring it completely fills the void and slightly overflows. Keep the flame close to the board to minimize carbon buildup (soot).
- Cool and Scrape: Allow the repair to cool and harden completely (this can take a few minutes to several hours, depending on the thickness). Once cool, use a sharp metal scraper or razor blade to carefully scrape away the excess material until it is flush with the rest of the board's base.
